Bill Jewell

Bill Jewell was born February 9th in Bangor Maine. His fascination with the stunning beauty of Maine urged him to draw and eventually paint at the age of 8 years old. That path defined, he has now been painting in watercolor and oil for over 30 years as a self taught professional artist.

He owned and operated his own galleries in Maine for 12 years before moving to Lake Tahoe in 1983. He lived at the Lake for over 10 years painting Tahoe’s sensational Light and Range selling virtually every original he painted there as well as selling out two different limited edition prints of Emerald Bay located on Lake Tahoe’s western shore.
Bill also painted many scenes from Yosemite to Big Sur as well as San Francisco’s fantastic Bay Area. In 1983 he began work on MCSFC, a 27 x 48 original oil on canvas mounted to panel from the majestic Marin Headlands overlooking San Francisco Bay at sunrise. Much of his painting was done on location until completion in 2004. This is the very first offering of Bill Jewell’s works as a limited edition Giclée on Canvas with each Giclée personally hand embellished by Bill with original oil paint.

Bill currently lives on his boat in San Diego where he is working on a series of Lighthouse paintings and photographs from all over America. His photographs have been published nationally in calendar form.
